Soldiers from Your County
If you have information to add about a specific soldier (including pension records), please send it to me. If you have an old picture to go with your soldier's story, I can post that too!
The soldier can be a veteran of any historical war, not just the Civil War. For this section, please keep submissions to conflicts occurring prior to 1920.
What to include in a submission
- Full name (and variants), approximate birth/death
- Service details (unit, rank, dates, conflict)
- Pension details (application/warrant numbers if known)
- Residence in Fairfax County (timeline helps!)
- Burial location or memorial links (if available)
- Source citations (newspapers, pensions, courthouse records, etc.)
