This incorporated city is the
county-seat of Oldham, in the
northern part of the county and
at the junction of the two main
lines of the L. & C. R.R., 27
miles northeast of Louisville, 8
southeast of Westport, on the
Ohio river and 83 southeast of
Cincinnati. It has 2 churches, a
public school and a select
school, a weekly newspaper, The
Oldham County Era, a fine brick
courthouse and an excellent
hotel. It laso has a steam
flouring-mill. Exports grain,
tobacco, hogs and sheep. Western
